Cost of living

I am debating moving to FTL and am wondering about the overall cost of living. I’ve seen a lot of people say you need to be making at least 100k to live which seems a little odd. My net income is 65k and I also have free health insurance from the VA so that isn’t a problem, my car is also paid off already. With all of these factors would 65k take home be sufficient to live relatively comfortably for a single man in Fort Lauderdale?
