I’ve been coming to Fort Lauderdale on vacation since I’m a kid. My parents retired part time here and loved it. It’s a beautiful town! What I don’t understand is why the coastal area just north of Las Olas lacks nice restaurants and shops . It’s prime real estate and all we have is bad souvenir shops and restaurants that leave a lot to be desired. I had to cover my 6 year old’s eyes as we walked by. The inscriptions on t-shirts in the windows and right on the sidewalk are full of curse words, and all kinds of disgusting and disparaging phrases. I think Fort Lauderdale deserves better! Does anybody know why we don’t have a better retail and restaurant offer in such beautiful prime real estate?
